Madison's
Furniture, one of the largest furniture retailers in Regina, began in
1985 in an 18,000 square foot store on Dewdney Avenue as Madison's Interiors.
At that time Madison's purchased, the then popular, Gerry's Furniture
store. With a store manager, two sales consultants, one office person
and one shipper/receiver Madison's thrived. The rest of the story speaks
for itself. The business grew rapidly and Madison's customers kept asking for more and the need for a larger showroom and warehouse space became necessary. In the summer of 1996 the opportunity arose to purchase, the then Defehr Furniture building at 1202 Osler St., and expand the business. Madison's rose to the occasion. In March of 1997 Madison's opened its expanded and renovated showroom as Madison's Furniture in the new location with 32,000 square feet of showroom. Madison's presented furniture groupings in a fashion not common in Regina furniture stores. |
